Day #3: Knitting on the run...
Well, yesterday, I spent time talking about how I lack all the time that I need for the day.
Well, for the past couple of months I have been attempting to train for a marathon. Last year I ran a half marathon. For those of you who don't know, it's 13.1 miles. My dad has already run like 5 marathons (that's 26.2 miles) by now and he's well over 50. I decided that I can't let my dad run marathons, while I am here doing only half marathons, so I decided to train.
This only serves to add another thing to do on my already full "to do" list. The cool thing is that I get to follow one of my other passions, health and fitness. I really love to exercise, especially at a gym. Call me crazy, but I just love running. I feel like that is the story of my life.
I am always running, whether it is from one thing to the next. I run to complete this project, doing my duties as a mother, singing in the choir, then heading to work. To actually put my feet to the pavement or the treadmill, I find it as a type of release. A release from all of the busyness of life. For that hour or two, or three (I am heading to three hours) on the run, I am able to focus on one thing, the music on my ipod and the miles I am logging in on my training schedule.
I am beginning to see that life is not all about finishing projects, making money or running around, it's rather about finding a goal, and running until you get there. That is what I will do every chance I get. I will run ahead as a business owner, mom, musician, athlete and artist. My goals are just ahead within my reach.
