Day #4: I lost my contacts...

I have decided that my first week here on the blog will be a chance for my followers to get to know me. Last night I headed to the gym. I actually don't have a gym membership, I am using a free trial for the next week and a half. I forgot to bring my towel, so the sweat was just pouring down my face. I looked like a big hairy man. I have worked out at gyms for years now and many have commented how sweaty I am. This makes me very self-conscious, although I am still determined to get my full workout. I headed home after a good workout and took a shower. When I took out my contacts, the left one fell on the floor. I have TERRIBLE eyesight. So bad that everytime I get my eyes examined, the eye doctor says, "Have you ever thought about laser eye surgery?" Anyway, I spent 30 mins looking for that contact and I just never found it. AHH!!! I love wearing contacts. When I wear my glasses people say, "Wow, I didn't know you wore glasses. They are pretty thick." Thanks as if I didn't know. Then I just began thinking this morning, am I that vain. Is everything that we are as people about our appearance? I pride myself in creating a product that enhances a person's natural beauty, whatever that maybe.
I need to love and accept all that I am flaws and all. It's easy to look at magazines and movies and compare ourselves with others, but I think the most important thing to remember is that we are all created "fearfully and wonderfully". I am special, gorgeous and fabulous, glasses or not.

  4. I enjoyed reading your post :)

I know how you feel too. When I wear my glasses people say, "Hey you wear glasses..." and they look at me like I have three heads, hahaha.

By the way, I always wear my glasses when I make jewelry. My vision is so bad that I am considering getting one of those headbands with a light like the kind that doctors & surgeons wear - just in case, I can't see my beads. (I think they sell them in Radio Shack, lol.)
